Safety
For safe use of the platform, follow these simple rules:
- Verify information before completing a transaction
- Do not share personal information with strangers
- Report rule violations to the administration via the Support Page
- Check the listing author's profile, reviews, and rating
If you notice suspicious activity from a user, treat them with caution. Suspicious activity may include:
- An unusually high number of completed orders with very few reviews. The orders may have been artificially inflated.
- Reviews coming from the same users repeatedly. The user may be manipulating reviews using additional accounts.
- A large number of Scam and Controversial reviews. The user may be deceiving other users.
Reputation and Trust
Successful transactions and respectful communication help build a good reputation. To earn the trust of other users:
- Be honest in your listing descriptions
- Respond to messages promptly
- Honor your agreements
- Maintain respectful communication
Middleman Services
Add an extra layer of security with an official Talins middleman.
For additional transaction security, Talins provides Middleman Services.
A middleman acts as an independent party between the buyer and seller, helping ensure a safe transaction and minimizing risks for both sides.
How Does a Middleman Transaction Work?
- 1The buyer and seller agree on the transaction terms.
- 2A middleman joins the transaction.
- 3The buyer transfers their item to the middleman.
- 4The seller transfers their item to the buyer.
- 5After the buyer confirms receipt of the item, the middleman transfers the held item to the seller.
When Should You Use a Middleman?
We recommend using a middleman in the following situations:
- Trading high-value items
- Trading a large number of items
- Transactions between users with no prior interaction history (no rating, reviews, or other reputation indicators)
- Any situation where one party wants additional security guarantees
Important Information
- Use only official middlemen listed on the Middleman Page.
- Do not transfer items to third parties outside the agreed transaction.
- Always verify the middleman's profile before starting cooperation.
- In the event of disputes, keep your chat history and transaction confirmations.
